Christ vs. the Dalai Lama

Today I watched an engaging documentary called "Tibet: Cry of the Snow Lion." To relate the importance of the Dalai Lama to Tibetans, the doc made this comparison: Imagine a Christian community, instead of believing their savior had been sacrificed long ago and would someday come back, that instead their savior was right there with them, continuously reincarnated, watching over them attentively and requiring a positive response at all times.

Can you imagine how different Western history could have turned out? It's mind boggling.
